Date nights always go smoothly, right? Chrissy Teigen will tell you otherwise. Renowned for keeping it real on the internet, Teigen shared some snaps on Instagram from her dinner date with husband, John Legend, overnight. She wore strappy Tom Ford heels with an iridescent green mini dress and paired the glitzy ensemble with a chic oversized blazer for a more casual element. But it turns out it was necessary.

Later, on her Instagram stories, Teigen pulled the blazer back to reveal a gaping hole along the seam of her dress, before holding a finger to her lips. The power couple and parents to Luna, 4 and Miles, 2 were photographed again leaving the restaurant, Spago in Beverley Hills. Teigen appeared unfazed by the wardrobe malfunction, taking it in her stride.

On her arm, John cut a classic figure in a patterned button-up, camel coat and fur-lined Gucci loafers. The couple played it COVID-safe and each donned a face mask during their night out.

For the pair there was definitely reason to celebrate. Back in January, Chrissy Teigen was one of the only non-Whitehouse officials that President Joe Biden followed on Twitter. This came after she was blocked by Donald Trump to the amusement of many. She took to the social media platform in question to vent her excitement.

Teigen attended the Inauguration Day celebrations with her husband who performed a rendition of “Feeling Good” after the ceremony. She then took to Instagram to post a photo of herself in front of the Washington Monument. It was accompanied by a lengthy caption where she summarised her less than favourable feelings towards the Trump administration.

“Today our great national fuckup is over, but the shame will last forever. with 2 impeachments, the creation of 3 million LESS jobs, 403,000 dead, a record low approval rating and god knows how many crimes, we can officially say Donald J Trump is the greatest at being the fucking worst. Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to have the guy with barely enough well done steak with ketchup fueled brainpower to power a lightbulb who doesn’t even know how to close an umbrella run the country. History will not be kind to you, you absolute psychopath. But I never was anyhow.”

Whether it’s on a night out, or at a Presidential Inauguration, we will definitely be taking style notes for our next date night. AND channelling Chrissy should a wardrobe slip-up occur.
