In what we believe is a first (unless she and Prince William secretly send each other silly filtered videos), Kate Middleton has made her Snapchat debut.
Followers of Serena Williams got a surprise on Friday when the Duchess of Cambridge appeared in a video the tennis champion shared from Wimbledon.
“So, I’m in the in-crowd now,” the world number one women’s singles player can be heard saying as she films herself next to Kate. “I’m with royalty”.

The Duchess looks a little awkward in the clip, like she’s not quite sure what to do – as we all did the first time we used Snapchat.
The possibility of Kate, Wills, Harry or even Queen Elizabeth being on Snapchat isn’t as far-flung as you might think, after the British Royal Family recently advertised a job opening for a Head of Digital Engagement to lead their social media strategy.
Here’s hoping Kate’s first taste of Snapchat encourages her to get her own account – we’d pay to see the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge do a Face Swap.
