Overnight the Princess of Wales posted a picture of her beloved daughter to their Instagram page. “Happy 9th birthday, Princess Charlotte,” it read. “Thank you for all the kind messages.”
While those kind messages would pertain to the littlest Princess’ birthday, thousands pour over the account every day to wish Kate Middleton good health and a speedy recovery.
The post comes as Royal author of The King: The Life of Charles III, Christopher Andersen, tells US Weekly that Middleton, 42, remains “resolutely cheerful” for her children and “a ray of light in what can often be a suffocatingly stuffy environment behind palace walls.”
“More than ever, William and Kate have reason to include the children in everything and keep the prevailing mood as upbeat as possible,” Andersen said. “Despite her challenges, Kate is incapable of being anything but resolutely cheerful around George, Charlotte, and Louis.”
Middleton shared her health diagnosis on March 22 amid of flurry of speculation about her whereabouts post a planned abdominal procedure. In her address to the world, Middleton noted her husband’s support.
“Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance,” she said with a smile. The couple just celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary.
While on a visit to northeast England, Prince William made stops in support of environmental and mental wellness initiatives. It was here that he was greeted by two bystanders draped with the Union Jack.
“Do you mind if I ask how your wife and children are?” one asked Prince William.
“We’re all doing well, thank you,” the royal responded.
“And obviously Catherine?” the bystander asked.
“We’re all doing well,” the Prince reiterated.
More to come.
