Meghan Markle is officially no more\u2014at least in name. The Duchess of Sussex recently revealed that she\u2019s swapped out her ‘Markle’ last name and is now going by Sussex, a decision she shares with Prince Harry and their two children, Archie and Lilibet.<\/p>\n

The reveal played out on With Love, Meghan<\/em><\/a>, the royal’s new Netflix series, when Mindy Kaling appeared as a guest and casually called her by her maiden name before Meghan gently corrected her.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s so funny you keep saying Markle,\u201d she laughed. \u201cYou know it\u2019s Sussex now. You have kids, and you go, ‘No, I share my name with my children.\u2019 And that feels so\u2026I didn\u2019t know how meaningful it would be, but it just means so much to go, \u2018This is our family name, our little family name.”<\/p>\n

For Meghan, the shift isn\u2019t just about formality\u2014it\u2019s a way to feel connected to her family, she explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s our shared name as a family,” she told People<\/em><\/a> magazine. \u201cI guess I hadn\u2019t recognised how meaningful that would be to me until we had children.\u201d<\/p>\n

While it’s unclear if the world will be quick to know her as ‘Meghan Sussex’, the change would mean further distancing herself from her estranged father, Thomas Markle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Since their royal wedding in 2018, followed by their decision to step away from royal life<\/a>, Meghan and Prince Harry<\/a> have been focused on raising their family in Montecito, California<\/a>. Their children, officially Prince Archie<\/a> and Princess Lilibet<\/a> of Sussex, were initially known as \u201cMaster Archie Mountbatten-Windsor\u201d and \u201cMiss Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor\u201d before King Charles III<\/a>‘s ascension to the throne.<\/p>\n

With Love<\/em>, Meghan<\/em> is set to premiere this week, following a delay in release due to the wildfires<\/a> that ravaged Southern California. Featuring friendly guests and plenty of tips and tricks, the show promises an intimate look at life in the Sussex
