Few of them end up running one. In the hills of Provence, Brad Pitt&#8217;s Ch\u00e2teau Miraval has become a working organic estate, famous for a ros\u00e9 that once disappeared from shelves in a matter of hours, and for a legal battle that has followed it for years.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<b>In short<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ch\u00e2teau Miraval covers about 400 hectares, or roughly 990 acres, in Provence, with 30 hectares of organic vines.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie leased it in 2008, bought it in 2011 and married in its chapel in 2014.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Its 2012 ros\u00e9, released in March 2013, sold out within hours.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>A ch\u00e2teau in the hills of Provence<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Miraval sits near the village of Correns, in Provence. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ch%C3%A2teau_Miraval\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">its Wikipedia entry<\/a>, the domain covers about 400 hectares, or 990 acres, with 30 hectares of organic vines on the valley floor. Pitt and Jolie&#8217;s lease, with an option to buy, became public in 2008, and the couple bought the estate in 2011, in partnership with winemaker Marc Perrin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In August 2014, the couple married in the ch\u00e2teau&#8217;s chapel.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>From film set dream to organic farm<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What Pitt built there is less glamorous and more agricultural than its reputation suggests. Argentina&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lanacion.com.ar\/espectaculos\/brad-pitt-compro-una-finca-de-500-hectareas-por-60-millones-de-dolares-y-la-transformo-en-una-nid02112026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">La Naci\u00f3n<\/a> describes it as a chemical-free agricultural and wine reserve, with native forests, centuries-old olive groves and farmland around the historic ch\u00e2teau. The estate also produces organic olive oil, and its vineyards are certified under the C\u00f4tes de Provence and Coteaux Varois appellations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The partnership with the Perrin family, one of France&#8217;s best-known winemaking dynasties, gave the project credibility from day one. Like <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/inside-julianne-moores-west-village-home-where-the-chairs-she-bought-in-paris-in-1995-still-take-center-stage-25497\/\">Julianne Moore&#8217;s West Village home<\/a><\/strong>, it is a celebrity property whose details matter more than its price tag.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>The ros\u00e9 that vanished in hours<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The first proof came quickly. The Miraval 2012 ros\u00e9 was released in March 2013 and sold out within hours. The wine is still sold under the <a href=\"https:\/\/miraval.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miraval<\/a> label.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pitt&#8217;s private life keeps fascinating fans, as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/brad-pitt-on-jennifer-aniston-there-isnt-a-single-malicious-bone-in-this-womans-body-shes-truly-extraordinary-in-that-respect-and-shes-taught-me-a-lot\/\">his recent words about Jennifer Aniston<\/a><\/strong> showed, but Miraval remains the most tangible trace of his years with Jolie.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>A legal fight that won&#8217;t go away<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After their separation, Jolie sold her 50% stake in October 2021 to Tenute del Mondo, a subsidiary of the Stoli Group. Pitt argued that their agreement barred either of them from selling without the other&#8217;s consent, and he went to court in February 2022. Years later, the case is still producing new rulings: in 2026 alone, courts have handed partial wins to both sides, as <a href=\"https:\/\/gulfnews.com\/entertainment\/brad-pitt-wins-key-court-ruling-in-ch%C3%A2teau-miraval-dispute-with-angelina-jolie-1.500587964\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gulf News<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/tribune.com.pk\/story\/2606646\/angelina-jolie-wins-ruling-blocking-release-of-messages-in-brad-pitt-winery-dispute\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Express Tribune<\/a> have reported. Pitt is now 62 and Jolie 51, and the ch\u00e2teau they once shared remains at the center of their story.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>The limit<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Figures on the estate&#8217;s current production and value vary between sources and have not been confirmed by Miraval, and the legal dispute is ongoing.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>The bottom line<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Brad Pitt came to Provence as a movie star looking for a hideaway.
