This one ends where it started. In 2019, Kanye West bought a sprawling ranch at the foot of Wyoming&#8217;s Bighorn Mountains from the family who had worked it for more than a century. Six years later, that same family owns it again.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<b>In short<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Kanye West bought the 6,713-acre Bighorn Mountain Ranch, near Greybull, Wyoming, from David and Paula Flitner in 2019.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The ranch was founded by Arthur Flitner in 1906, and the family has lived in the valley for six generations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In September 2025, West sold it back to Greg and Pam Flitner, for $14 million according to Complex.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>A ranch with more than a century of history<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bighorn Mountain Ranch sits near the small town of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Greybull,_Wyoming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Greybull<\/a>, in Wyoming&#8217;s Bighorn County, a landscape of cattle country and mountain pasture. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/cowboystatedaily.com\/2025\/10\/17\/flitner-family-buys-bighorn-mountain-ranch-back-from-kanye-west\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cowboy State Daily<\/a>, it was founded in 1906 by Arthur Flitner at the base of the Bighorn Mountains, and the fourth, fifth and sixth generations of the family still live in the valley.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In 2019, West bought the 6,713-acre property from David Flitner and his wife, Paula, a few months after acquiring the 3,885-acre Monster Lake Ranch near Cody.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>The Yeezy dream that never happened<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">West had big plans for the region, including what he called a &#8220;Yeezy Campus&#8221; and shoe manufacturing in nearby Cody. Neither happened. Cowboy State Daily notes that those plans faded after his 2021 divorce filing from Kim Kardashian and his 2022 antisemitic remarks, which cost him partnerships with Gap, Balenciaga and Adidas. The ranch was eventually put up for sale around 2021. It was not listed publicly at first, Pam Flitner told Complex, which helps explain how quietly the deal came together.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Back in the family<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The sale to Greg and Pam Flitner was notarized on September 17, 2025, in Zurich by West&#8217;s wife, Bianca Censori, on his behalf, and recorded by Bighorn County a few days later. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.complex.com\/music\/a\/markelibert\/kanye-west-sells-wyoming-ranch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Complex<\/a> reports a price of $14 million. For a family whose roots in the valley go back to 1906, the purchase closes a chapter that lasted only six years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The family says the land came back largely intact. &#8220;He didn&#8217;t go in with a bulldozer and take them down,&#8221; Pam Flitner said of the ranch buildings. Complex adds that the historic Baldridge Cabin, a log cabin on the property, was preserved.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For the Flitners, the land itself was always the point. &#8220;The mountain land is a cowboy&#8217;s dream and elk-hunting paradise,&#8221; Pam Flitner told Cowboy State Daily.
