Instead, they watched two of country music&#8217;s biggest stars get married. McGraw proposed backstage at Country Jam in Grand Junction, Colorado, in 1996, and they married months later, on October 6, in his home state of Louisiana. Their guests believed they were attending a charity softball game and concert.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>The habit: checking in<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In a recent magazine interview reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/tim-mcgraw-faith-hill-thinking-about-being-grandparents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Taste of Country<\/a>, McGraw, now 59, explained that commitment is only the start. &#8220;Points of change, I think, are the most dangerous parts of a long marriage,&#8221; he said. When their youngest left home, the adjustment was hard, especially for Hill. &#8220;That lasted about six months,&#8221; McGraw said. Then they decided to treat this new chapter as the honeymoon they never really had. &#8220;We&#8217;ve made it fun, by ourselves.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A new stage is already on the horizon.
