Law Roach, the visionary Image Architect behind Zendaya and Celine Dion\u2019s most iconic looks, is bringing his expertise from the red carpet<\/a> to the classroom with School of Style<\/a>, an innovative program designed to equip aspiring stylists with the skills and insights necessary to thrive in fashion. <\/span>GRAZIA USA<\/span><\/i> caught up with Roach to discuss his journey, inspiration, and how he\u2019s redefining the art \u2014 and business \u2014 of styling.<\/span><\/p>\n

From Personal Mission to Community Building<\/b><\/h2>\n

For Roach, the School of Style is more than a curriculum \u2014 it\u2019s a reflection of his own path. Growing up outside traditional fashion capitals, Roach understands the importance of accessibility. \u201cIt\u2019s a beacon of possibility,\u201d he explains, empowering those outside fashion hubs like New York, Milan, or Paris. His goal is to foster a network of stylists who support each other like family. He refers to graduates as his \u201cfashion children,\u201d emphasizing collaboration. \u201cI want us to build a huge network of like-minded people where someone will always have someone to call for advice, depend on, or collaborate with.\u201d<\/p>\n

What sets School of Style apart is its direct connection to the Only Agency, giving graduates a competitive edge. \u201cYour chances of being employed are higher than someone who didn\u2019t take the course,\u201d Roach says. This unique link ensures students gain both education and access to professional opportunities, making it a bridge to real industry success.<\/p>\n

Program Culture and Structure<\/b><\/h2>\n

The program\u2019s flexible structure allows students to work at their own pace, making it accessible for those balancing other commitments. \u201cYou can take the course in your pajamas, with coffee, during lunch breaks, or even on vacation,\u201d Roach explains. However, he stresses the importance of dedication. \u201cBe ready to work because the challenge is there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyond flexibility, Roach emphasizes the balance between creativity and business acumen. \u201cUnderstanding the business of fashion is almost, if not more, important than being creative,\u201d he says. His program ensures students grasp both the artistic and financial aspects of styling, encouraging them to approach their careers with both vision and strategy.<\/p>\n

Skills and <\/b>Preparing for Real-World Challenges<\/b><\/h2>\n

Students gain invaluable insights into the realities of styling, including theory, technique, and practical troubleshooting. \u201cYou will get an inside peek at how I built my career and the things I think are important for every stylist to know,\u201d Roach shares. A standout feature of the curriculum is its focus on financial literacy, an often overlooked component in fashion education. \u201cMany freelancers make mistakes with finances,\u201d Roach tells us, highlighting his commitment to preparing students for the challenges of managing their careers.<\/p>\n

Roach is also candid about the less glamorous side of the industry. \u201cThe results are glamorous, but the work is not,\u201d he admits to GRAZIA<\/em>. \u201cAlways remember that the grind is more important than the glamour.\u201d Roach extends heartfelt advice for those entering the program, sharing, “The advice that I would give students starting out in the program is to really engage with the material and don\u2019t be afraid to ask questions and use all the resources. Take it really seriously because this could be your life. Your dreams can come true \u2014 I promise you.”<\/span><\/p>\n

A Lasting Legacy<\/b><\/h2>\n

As for the mark he hopes to leave on the world, Roach shares, “I hope that I leave a legacy that I was able to open doors, help the next generation, and be known for not just putting pretty women in pretty dresses.” He\u2019s confident <\/span>School of Style<\/span> will play a key role in shaping the industry\u2019s future. <\/span>“I think School of Style will help create the next generation of amazing Image Architects, and I will be very proud to see that coming to fruition.”<\/span><\/p>\n
