This time of year is always one of temperamental weather. Leaves change, shop windows get dusted in snow (irrespective of the climate you\u2019re in) and the festive period leaves us contemplating what sales purchase can fill the neverending gaps in our wardrobes. In our quest to combat this transeasonal quandary, Kylie Jenner<\/a> has offered up a new uniform that is as practical as it is chic. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sectioned halfway between a necessarily thick winter coat<\/a> and a breezy summer layering, Jenner used her latest street style outing to argue that the cropped trench coat could be the pragmatic closet staple and answer to our problems. Hailing from military origins and fused with a polished edge through the tailoring elements of the jacket, the cropped trench is a modern riff on a classic that forgoes bulky shapes for a sportier, sleeker edge. <\/span><\/p>\n

Turn the collar up and pair it with jeans and you\u2019ve got yourself a perfectly acceptable office outfit that can see you through to after-work drinks. Add ballet flats and micro shorts and you\u2019re set to embrace your inner Jane Birkin<\/a> during your next Saturday morning farmer\u2019s market run. Layered with a black mini skirt and heeled knee-high boots, as the reality star did, and you\u2019re fit for an off-duty outing in the streets of Calabasas. <\/span><\/p>\n

The 27-year-old also offset her razor-sharp shoes and tight bottoms with Miu Miu\u2019s oversized Ivy tote bag in black leather. Her cropped trench featured traditional hallmarks with epaulettes, storm shield, front flap, tie-up belt and double-breasted closure, making her styling choices especially sleek in contrast. <\/span><\/p>\n

Of course, she\u2019s not the first member of the celebrity style set (or even her friendship circle) to endorse this boxy piece. <\/span><\/p>\n

Kendall Jenner<\/a> tucked a mint-hued khaki version into a longline midi skirt to attend The Row\u2019s Spring\/Summer 2024 show<\/a> in Paris last September.<\/span><\/p>\n
