While Kate Middleton may not be by Prince William\u2019s<\/a> side during his recent excursion to South Africa, the Prince of Wales has reassured the public that his wife is \u201cdoing really well\u201d amid her recent health struggles<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The heir to the British throne was asked about Middleton\u2019s condition while attending the annual Earthshot Prize awards in Cape Town solo. But rather than remaining tight-lipped<\/a> about the mother of his three children, Prince George<\/a>, 11, Princess Charlotte<\/a>, 9 and Prince Louis, 6, Prince William gushed over her resilience and strength throughout her difficult battle. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShe’s been amazing this whole year,\u201d the former Duke of Cambridge shared<\/a>. The 42-year-old added that Middleton \u201cwill be really keen to see tonight be a success\u201d, in reference to the environmentalist-oriented ceremony, noting that \u201chopefully, she is watching tonight\u201d and \u201ccheering me on\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prince William attended the event with Australia\u2019s Robert Irwin, the conservationist and son of late wildlife advocate Steve Irwin. Though he might be far from Kensington Palace, Prince William told the press that his daughter gave him a sweet farewell gift to remind him of home. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWell, this is a relic, if you like, from a Taylor Swift<\/a> concert that my daughter decided that she wanted to create a bracelet for,\u201d he said of the handmade wristlet that spelt out \u2018Papa\u2019. \u201cShe gave it to me when I came away. So I promised that I’d wear it and try not to lose while I was out here,\u201d he continued.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite Middleton remaining in England, the 42-year-old hasn\u2019t shied away from completing her duties<\/a> now that she\u2019s well enough. <\/span><\/p>\n

In October, the couple made their first appearance<\/a> since Middleton revealed her successful chemotherapy treatment<\/a> while hosting 16-year-old photographer and cancer patient, Liz Hatton, to tea at Windsor Castle<\/a>. They were later spotted in Southport where they visited emergency responders and victims of the mass stabbing attack that occurred at a Taylor Swift-themed children\u2019s dance class.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Though it\u2019s unclear when Middleton will make her next outing<\/a>, she stayed true to her promise to be \u201cresolutely cheerful<\/a>\u201d for her children\u2019s sake, even being spotted attending Prince Louis\u2019 soccer match in an on-trend barn
