In an act some royal experts are citing as an olive branch, Prince William has publicly addressed Prince Harry during a preview for his upcoming two-part documentary. It\u2019s speculated that the mention of his brother is the first time the Prince of Wales has openly referenced the Duke of Sussex in six years.<\/p>\n

The pair have reportedly been embroiled in a royal feud for that period, a discourse that was compounded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle\u2019s decision to step back as senior members of the royal family<\/a> in 2020 and the former\u2019s subsequent publishing of his explosive memoir<\/a>, Spare<\/em>, in 2023.<\/p>\n

The comment came as an innocuous nod to his upbringing during a promotional clip for his new Disney+ limited series, Prince William: We Can End Homelessness<\/em>. As shared by Kensington Palace, the show will follow the \u201cfirst year of Homewards \u2013 a five-year programme founded by The Prince and The Royal Foundation which aims to demonstrate that it is possible to end homelessness\u201d.<\/p>\n

However, it was a brief moment in which the 42-year-old spoke about the impetus of the charity endeavour that piqued interest. Prince William<\/a> opened up about how his mother, Princess Diana<\/a>, first introduced him to the issue after bringing him and Prince Harry along to visit The Passage<\/a>, a London-based resource centre that provides housing support, education and employment resources, health services and works to advocate for the prevention and ending of homelessness.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mother took me to The Passage; she took [Prince] Harry and I both there. I must have been 11 at the time, maybe 10,\u201d Prince William revealed. \u201cI had never been to anything like that before, and I was a bit anxious about what to expect,\u201d he also shared.<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t go into further detail about his estranged sibling but elaborated on the impact Princess Diana had on inspiring him to continue her mission. \u201cMy mother went about her usual, making everyone feel relaxed, having a laugh and joking with everyone. I remember at the time kind of thinking, \u2018Well, if everyone doesn\u2019t have a home, they\u2019re all going to be really sad.\u2019 But it was incredible how happy an environment it was,\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the initiative further, Prince William shared in a statement that \u201cHomewards aims to give people across the UK hope that homelessness can be prevented by showing them the progress we can make when we collaborate.\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s a big task, but I firmly believe that by working together it is possible to make homelessness rare, brief and unrepeated,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Prince Harry hasn\u2019t yet responded to the gesture and there\u2019s no telling whether he\u2019ll be tuning in to watch the programme, either. Instead, the 40-year-old is busying himself with his own Netflix unscripted series<\/a> following his love of polo and supporting the Suits<\/em> alum as she prepares to launch her lifestyle empire with the unveiling of America Riviera Orchard.<\/a><\/p>\n
