This Barbie is a mother! Margot Robbie has given birth to her first child with her husband, Tom Ackerley, sources have confirmed. The Academy Award-nominated actress and film producer welcomed a boy on October 17, as per the<\/span>\u00a0Daily Mail<\/a><\/span><\/i>. According to the publication, the Los Angeles-based pair welcomed their newborn son \u201cshortly before her due date\u201d and that \u201call is well\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

The tabloid added that those close to the Hollywood power couple remained \u201ctight-lipped\u201d to guard the growing family\u2019s privacy. Robbie and Ackerley\u2019s parents are also said to be preparing to visit the US from Australia and the UK respectively, to meet the bub. Though the news of their baby boy wasn\u2019t made public until November 3, Ackerley quickly took to his role as dotting dad as he was spotted stocking up on nursery supplies like nappies near their home in Venice Beach.<\/span><\/p>\n

The baby\u2019s name is yet to be revealed, but as a report published by <\/span>People <\/span><\/i><\/a>prior to his birth, the 34-year-old had allegedly been resting at home in anticipation of their arrival. “Margot absolutely can’t wait,” an insider revealed, adding that Robbie and Ackerley have “wanted to be parents for a really long time, and are so happy\u201d. \u201cShe’s usually one of the hardest-working actresses in Hollywood,\u201d they noted. \u201cShe seems to enjoy some downtime from filming now though.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Robbie had immediately jumped into her next project, the surrealist romantic fantasy film<\/span> A Big Bold Beautiful Journey <\/span><\/i>co-starring Colin Farrell, following the press tour and awards circuit for Greta Gerwig\u2019s <\/span>Barbie<\/span><\/i><\/a>. After news of her pregnancy broke, Robbie leant into a slower pace by soft-launching her spirits brand Papa Salt\u2019s<\/a> new range at Wimbledon<\/a>\u2014wearing that fabulously bump-baring asymmetrical Ala\u00efa mini,<\/a> as you may recall\u2014and taking a babymoon to Italy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Robbie also only made on red carpet<\/a> appearance throughout her pregnancy<\/a> which was attending the premiere of <\/span>My Old Ass<\/span><\/i>, which she co-produced through her company LuckyChap Entertainment, while wearing a body-conscious Paris Georgia maxi dress. <\/span><\/p>\n

Robbie and Ackerley first met in 2013 on the set of <\/span>World War II<\/span><\/i> drama Suite Fran\u00e7aise. The duo became friends before renting an apartment together in London where they began dating. Robbie and Ackerley wed<\/a> during an intimate ceremony in Byron Bay in 2016.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
