The girlfriend of Liam Payne<\/a>, Kate Cassidy, has released a personal statement following the tragic death of the singer.<\/p>\n

For the first time since news broke of the former One Direction star’s passing at 31, Cassidy has shared a touching tribute<\/a> that included a series of sweet photos together and a note Payne had left her.<\/p>\n

“My heart is shattered in ways I can’t put into words,” she began in an Instagram post. “You are\u2014because I can’t say were\u2014my best friend, the love of my life, and everyone you touched felt just as special as I did.”<\/p>\n

“I’m struggling to figure out how to live in a world without you by my side,” she continued. “It feels like I’ve lost the best part of myself.”<\/p>\n

She then opened up about a recent moment the couple shared, where they jotted down their plans for the future. Admitting to reading Payne’s notes when she wasn’t supposed to, Cassidy revealed that she and the singer planned to tie the knot.<\/p>\n

“Me and Kate to marry within a year\/engaged and together forever 444,” read Payne’s note, referring to angel numbers.<\/p>\n

“Liam, I know we’ll be together forever, but not in the way we had planned,” she responded. “You’ll always be with me. I’ve gained a guardian angel.”<\/p>\n

Cassidy and Payne were first spotted together in October 2022 and were red carpet official by December of that year.<\/p>\n

The duo had been together in Buenos Aires, posting photos and videos from their trip, before Cassidy left for Miami before Payne’s accident.<\/p>\n

Payne passed away on October 16 when he fell from a balcony attached to his third-story room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires<\/a>, Argentina.<\/p>\n

The exact details of his death are unclear, but autopsies revealed that the 31-year-old had a cocktail of substances in his system.<\/p>\n

His grief-stricken family released a message in the wake of Payne\u2019s death, saying they will remember him \u201cfor his kind, funny and brave soul\u201d. They also asked for \u201cprivacy and space at this awful time,\u201d per the statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The remaining One Direction members<\/a> also released a statement on the group\u2019s official Instagram page, sharing a message to their fallen bandmate.<\/p>\n

“We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing,” it read. “The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever.
