If we had a dollar for every time Nicole Kidman starred in an erotic thriller set in New York around Christmas time, we\u2019d only have two. But as they say, \u201conce is an instance, twice is a hobby\u201d, and it appears that the Australian actress is ensuring theatres will be packed come the December 25 release date by sharing this piece of information while on the film\u2019s press tour. <\/span><\/p>\n

For the uninitiated, Kidman leads the Halina Reijn-directed drama as Romy, a high-powered CEO who becomes embroiled in an intoxicating and forbidden relationship with her much younger intern, played by internet boyfriend Harris Dickinson. As we\u2019ve seen in the trailer, the movie will explore elements of domination and submission both in the boardroom and bedroom.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her portrayal earned the 57-year-old<\/a> the Best Actress award at the 2024 Venice Film Festival <\/a>where <\/span>Babygirl <\/span><\/i>debuted. However, the role also merited an interesting reaction from Kidman while filming some of the more intimate scenes, too. The actress revealed<\/a> that she was \u201csort of hypnotised\u201d by the script from the outset, sharing that she was \u201cturned on\u201d by the material. But when it came to acting those moments out, Kidman explained that shooting the sex scenes often left her exhausted and frustrated.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere were times when we were shooting where I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t want to orgasm any more. Don\u2019t come near me. I hate doing this\u2019,\u201d Kidman divulged. \u201cIt was so present all the time for me that it was almost like a burnout,\u201d she continued. Despite the taxing demands placed on her for the role, Kidman has also praised <\/span>Babygirl <\/span><\/i>and the relationship she forged with Reijn. \u201cIt\u2019s the story that I wanted to be a part of, that I wanted to tell, and every part of me was committed to that,\u201d she noted.<\/span><\/p>\n

The movie also features Antonio Banderas, Esther McGregor and Australia\u2019s own Sophie Wilde<\/a>.
