Liam Payne\u2019s father, Geoff Payne, has been seen visiting the five-story hotel in Buenos Aires where his son tragically passed away<\/a> on October 16. The One Direction star sadly plummeted from a balcony attached to his third-story room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in the Argentinan capital city. He was 31. <\/span><\/p>\n

Though details around his death remain a mystery, the British singer\u2019s family has touched down to reportedly organise the relocation of Payne\u2019s body back to his native England. Payne was pictured by onlooking paparazzi at the judicial morgue two days after the news broke. He is said to have officially identified his son\u2019s remains before heading to the local prosecutor\u2019s office to organise the transportation of the corpse. <\/span><\/p>\n

Local authorities are currently undergoing toxicology tests to determine if there were any substances in his systems at the time of death, with their findings still pending. Results of the autopsy have been released in the interim, revealing his cause of death as internal and external bleeding and multiple sustained traumatic injuries. <\/span><\/p>\n

The emotional visit culminated in Payne arriving at the site of his son\u2019s passing to collect the late singer\u2019s possessions from the hotel. He briefly stopped at the memorial shrine posted outside of the property where he appeared clearly moved by the tributes and overwhelming outpouring of love amid the family\u2019s painful loss.<\/span><\/p>\n

Payne was born in Wolverhampton to Geoff and Karen Payne on August 29, 1993. The pop star skyrocketed to the spotlight in 2011 when he was grouped with Harry Styles<\/a>, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan on reality competition show <\/span>X-Factor. <\/span><\/i>The boy band subsequently became one of the most successful musical acts of all time before they eventually went on indefinite hiatus in 2016. <\/span><\/p>\n

Payne\u2019s family appeared in the 2013 documentary <\/span>One Direction: This Is Us <\/span><\/i>where they candidly spoke about adjusting to their son\u2019s unprecedented fame and missing him during a demanding touring schedule. The grief-stricken family released a message in the wake of Payne\u2019s death, saying they will remember him \u201cfor his kind, funny and brave soul\u201d. They also asked for \u201cprivacy and space at this awful time,\u201d per the statement<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Styles, Malik, Tomlinson and Horan have also shared messages<\/a> expressing their condolences for their former bandmate. Payne\u2019s ex-girlfriend and mother of his son, Cheryl Cole, also slammed the \u201cabhorrent reports and media exploitation\u201d following Payne\u2019s passing in her message. <\/span><\/p>\n

Payne is reportedly set to be laid to rest during a funeral ceremony slated for next month. It\u2019s believed this will be the moment all surviving members of One Direction will reunite for the first time in almost a decade.
