Since stepping down as senior members of the royal family<\/a> in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have remained relatively candid about raising their two young children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. Earlier this week during a rare appearance in the United Kingdom, the 40-year-old<\/a> continued this streak by sharing never-before-heard insights about the littlest Sussexes. <\/span><\/p>\n

While speaking at the annual WellChild Awards, a charity he is a patron of, the Duke reportedly told the intimate crowd about the unexpected trait Meghan Markle passed on to the youngsters. At an initial glance, you might think that Prince Harry would\u2019ve gushed about one of the many archetypes the former <\/span>Suits <\/span><\/i><\/a>actress<\/a> possesses. <\/span><\/p>\n

Instead, he revealed that both Prince Archie and Princess Lilbet were \u201cblessed\u201d with Markle\u2019s \u201cthick hair\u201d. As per Hello<\/a>! <\/i>Prince Harry \u201ctold [guests] self-effacingly, as he marvelled that it won’t be long until [Princess Lilibet] can sit on hers\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

Royalists haven\u2019t been afforded a glimpse at the growing Californian-based heirs since they appeared in their parent\u2019s 2022 Netflix docuseries, <\/a><\/span>Harry & Meghan<\/a>. <\/span><\/i>A photo shared that same year of \u2018Petite Lili\u2019, as the couple call her, celebrating her birthday revealed that she also sported Prince Harry\u2019s ginger hair colouring. <\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Spare<\/span><\/i> author noted during a 2023 appearance on <\/span>The Late Show With Stephen Colbert <\/span><\/i>that \u201cthe Spencer gene is very, very strong,\u201d referencing the auburn colouring he bequeathed to his son and daughter through Princess Diana\u2019s family<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI really, genuinely thought at the beginning of my relationship [with Markle] that, should this go the distance and we have kids, there\u2019s no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife\u2019s genes, but I was wrong,\u201d he added. <\/span><\/p>\n

Markle also offered a never-before-heard tidbit about the toddler during their recent visit to Colombia<\/a>. During a talk, the American Riviera Orchard founder revealed that Princess Lilibet had \u201cabsolutely found her voice\u201d and that she and Prince Harry were \u201cso proud of that\u201d.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

The pair are also reportedly planning to debut their children in an official capacity<\/a> in the near future.
