I’ve decided I miss makeup. This decision was made at approximately 11:52 a.m. on Tuesday when the new Nars Orgasm X Collection landed in my hot little hands (bless you, Australia Post). I’ve been mostly barefaced for eight-ish weeks now, except for eyebrow gel (it’s as essential to my day as caffeine and oxygen) and the odd swipe of concealer (because ogling my isolation breakouts every time I pass a reflective surface is not good for morale). To add context, Nars Orgasm Blush is like the Jennifer Lopez of makeup. Everyone has heard of it, 99 per cent of people love it, and it’s just as iconic now as it was when it launched in 1999. It’s the perfect peachy pink with shimmer and gives its wearer an… ahem…<\/em> post-coital flush (without needing to take their clothes off). If a beauty hall of fame existed, Nars Orgasm Blush would be in it.<\/p>\n

There’s been expansions of the Orgasm collection before (the lip tint and liquid blush<\/a> are pure perfection), but the fact that they are few and far between makes a new addition all the more exciting. But just this week, we saw the arrival of Orgasm X: the perfect beauty m\u00e9nage \u00e0 trois\u00a0<\/em>including a cheek palette, a lip oil tint and a teeny tiny palette made up of varying shades of pink.<\/p>\n

It’s destiny to be enamored with all three. The lip oil<\/a>, with its glassy shine and a my-lips-but-better hue; the cheek trio<\/a>, including the iconic Orgasm shade, a golden highlighter and the new Orgasm X, a punchy deep-raspberry that delivers on the rosy glow<\/em> brief in spades; and my favorite, the eyeshadow palette<\/a>, with its tiny dimensions but big color payoff. The six shades include both shimmer, matte and metallic, ranging from the softest Champagne to sweet peach. Flattering and user friendly, it’s the kind of shadow anyone can just dust on without too much thought. Go easy with one shade or layer a shimmer for extra frivolity.<\/p>\n

Either way, this set of three is certainly not a crowd! The perfect way to reintegrate makeup (even if you are still in sweats drinking lukewarm instant coffee… baby steps).<\/p>\n
