Before models even hit the catwalk for the Dior Spring\/Summer 2025 ready-to-wear show<\/a> at the Mus\u00e9e Rodin during Paris Fashion Week<\/a>, a stunning goddess clad in a one-shoulder number and waist-length braid strode down the length of the runway carrying a quiver and crossbow. With the whiz of an arrow, artist and archer SAGG Napoli kicked off the action, setting the tone for a celebration of power and femininity. A star-studded front row including Natalie Portman<\/a>, Rosalia, Elizabeth Debicki, Anya Taylor-Joy,<\/a> Monica Barbaro and Ashley Park sat transfixed.<\/p>\n

The performance art and show narrative was a nod to creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri<\/a>\u2019s inspiration for the collection, the archival Amazone dress designed by Christian Dior in 1951, reimagined here with asymmetric bodysuits, updated trenches, shiny tech fabrics, metallic gladiator sneakers and more functional yet fabulous silhouettes. The beauty on the runway followed suit.<\/p>\n

Backstage, makeup artist Peter Philips<\/a> shared that Chiuri wanted models to have an \u201cAmazonian\u201d beauty. \u201cIt\u2019s about a strong woman,\u201d he said, who looks as though she either just wrapped a workout or \u201ccame from a heroic battlefield.\u201d In this fantasy, she projects a no-nonsense, here-for-it appeal \u2014 she means business.<\/p>\n

The cornerstone of the look was flushed cheeks \u2014 \u201cworkout blush,\u201d as Philips called it \u2014 achieved by blending the brand\u2019s new Rouge Blush Color & Glow<\/a> from the hollow under the cheekbone down towards the jawline, noting that powder blush, rather than a cream or liquid formula, imparts just the right amount for a subtle wash of color. \u201cIt\u2019s not a strong pigment, this one,\u201d he advises. \u201cIt\u2019s not a contour blush,\u201d he insists, noting that the vibe should mimic that healthy rush of flush that one achieves post-run.<\/p>\n

Eyebrows were simply filled in and brushed up and likewise lids were bare save for a slash of black liner, specifically Diorshow On Stage Crayon in 099 Black<\/a>. Philips placed color haphazardly along bottom waterlines and had models blink to transfer pigment for a decidedly undone, lived-in look.<\/p>\n

As for skin, the pro prepped the complexion with Dior\u2019s Capture Totale Serum<\/a> and Hyalushot<\/a> before smoothing on Forever Skin Contour<\/a> foundation sticks. \u201cI always do a matte foundation on the catwalk because it\u2019s got enough coverage and then the lights make it look luminous,\u201d he says. But, for this moment, to mimic the appearance of exertion, just before models hit the runway he added a touch of strategically placed serum \u201cto get more of a wet effect.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lips were slicked with clear gloss, Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil in OOO<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To complement the woman-on-the-move makeup, hairstylist Guido Palau<\/a> fashioned devil-may-care, looped ponytails harnessed by \u201890s-inspired bra-headbands.<\/p>\n

Amidst sayings scrawled on the walls like \u201cI don\u2019t know if I\u2019ver ever shined, but I have resisted,\u201d and \u201cI get obsessed looking at the way people move when they\u2019re doing something they\u2019re really good at,\u201d the message was clear: You don\u2019t have to look \u2014 or perhaps feel \u2014 perfectly put together to control your destiny.
