Singledom is coming. At least, that is the case for Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas after the former couple finalised their divorce a year after filing. <\/span><\/p>\n

As per reports<\/a>, a Florida judge officially ruled that Turner and Jonas\u2019 four-year marriage is \u201cirretrievably broken\u201d and signed off on a confidential settlement agreement between the pair. (The contents of which are not available to the public.) <\/span><\/p>\n

Additional court documents state the terms of the arrangement are \u201cin the best interests of the parties and this family,\u201d adding that, \u201cthe marriage between the parties is dissolved and the parties are restored to the status of being single\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

The journey to reach this agreement has been highly publicised and acrimonious. For the uninitiated, t<\/span>he Jonas Brothers singer petitioned for divorce<\/a> in a Miami court on September 5, 2023, kickstarting a year-long legal battle that Turner described as “torture”. <\/span><\/p>\n

Turner and Jonas released a shared statement to the public on their respective Instagram accounts the day after. The post, which was signed \u201cfrom the two of us\u201d, advised they had \u201cmutually decided to amicably end\u201d their marriage after \u201cwonderful\u201d years together.<\/span><\/p>\n

Though the couple had a pre-nuptial agreement in place, their separation played out in several courtrooms and the court of public opinion as Turner sued her ex<\/a> for \u201cthe immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

She accused Jonas of withholding the passports of their two daughters, Willa, 4 and Delphine, 2, and alleged he would not permit them to travel with her to her native U.K. The matter was resolved<\/a> earlier this year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Turner addressed the custody battle in a profile with <\/span>British Vogue <\/span><\/i><\/a>in March of this year, detailing her experience with misogyny and mum-shaming<\/a> following the separation. \u201cThose were the worst few days of my life,\u201d she said of the aftermath and response to the breakup. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere were some days that I didn\u2019t know if I was going to make it,\u201d she said of the proceedings before adding that she only wants her daughters to \u201cfeel loved and have everyone show up for them\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

Despite only being legally single from September 6, 2024, both Turner and Jonas found love after heartbreak and are dating other people. Jonas is seeing model Stormi Bree<\/a> while Turner is in a relationship with British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson<\/a>. Turner has also struck up newfound friendships with Taylor Swift<\/a>, who also happens to be Jonas\u2019 ex-girlfriend<\/a>, and Dakota Johnson<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
