The US Open, one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments, is not only a sporting extravaganza but also a high-profile fashion event<\/a>. Celebrities from all over flock to Flushing Meadows to catch the action, showcase their impeccable style<\/a>, and, of course, cheer on their favorite players.<\/p>\n

A Look at the Tournament<\/strong><\/h2>\n

While the celebrities may steal the show off the court<\/a>, the US Open is ultimately about the tennis. The tournament, which is held annually at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, Queens, New York City, is one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world. The tournament was first held in 1881 at the Newport Casino in Newport, Rhode Island. It moved to Forest Hills, Queens, in 1915, and finally to Flushing Meadows in 1978.<\/p>\n

The total prize money for the 2024 US Open is a record-breaking $75 million in total player compensation, including $3.6 million for the men’s and women’s singles champions. Last year, Coco Gauff, a 19-year-old American tennis player, captured her first Grand Slam title at the US Open. Despite trailing early, she rallied to defeat the top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka in a thrilling final. Following Gauff’s victory, Novak Djokovic, a seasoned 36-year-old, clinched his 24th Grand Slam singles championship by defeating Daniil Medvedev in the men’s final.<\/p>\n

The US Open typically attracts over 75,000 spectators per day throughout its two-week duration, including both tennis fanatics and all walks of A-listers, from Hollywood’s elite to members of the British Royal Family.<\/p>\n
