It\u2019s been 12 years since the last episode of <\/span>Gossip Girl <\/span><\/i><\/a>aired, but Ed Westwick\u2019s recent nuptials at a coastal Italian chateau has given us a glimpse at where the beloved character\u2019s lives might\u2019ve taken them in that time. Indeed, the English actor<\/a> wed fellow actress and model Amy Jackson at a mediaeval castle along the Amalfi Coast, with the bride and groom exchanging \u201cI dos\u201d in designs crafted by preeminent Milanese luxuriates; Alberta Ferretti<\/a> and Giorgio Armani<\/a> respectively. <\/span><\/p>\n

Yet, it was the emotional speech given by his former co-star (and fictional stepmother) Kelly Rutherford that really would pull on the heartstrings of fans. Emulating their characters Lily Van Der Woodsen and Chuck Bass<\/a>, Rutherford led a sweet toast to the newlywed. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI truly feel like the most grateful for our friendship and to be able to work with you was such a gift,\u201d said the actress and perennial \u2018Birkin Mum\u2019. \u201cTo be able to watch you fall in love\u2026I\u2019m going to cry. No, truly it is the most beautiful thing in life and you are such a beautiful man.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Eschewing her Upper East Side<\/a> persona for the colourful wedding, Rutherford emulated the Slim Aarons jet set in a floral gown from La Double J. It didn\u2019t appear that anyone else from the core cast, including Blake Lively<\/a>, Leighton Meester<\/a>, Chase Crawford<\/a> or Penn Badgley<\/a>, received an invite.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the lead-up to the wedding, Rutherford shared a quote on Instagram that could be viewed as a rationale for the guest list. It read: \u201cIf you\u2019re wondering who your people are, they are the ones who make your heart seen and your nervous system feel clean. Yes, it\u2019s that simple.\u201d<\/p>\n

Westwick himself shared his excitement for this new chapter, sharing a suite of images from the ceremony with the caption, \u201cThe journey has just begun \ud83d\udc8d\u201d.<\/p>\n
