From playing an incredibly layered, world-renowned conductor in T\u00c1R<\/em> <\/a>to an intergalactic bounty hunter in new film Borderlands<\/em>, two-time Oscar-winning Australian actress Cate Blanchett<\/a> really can do it all. And on the promotional trail for the latter\u2014a movie based on a bestselling video game of the same name and which follows a ragtag team of misfits on a mission to save a missing girl\u2014Blanchett cements her moonlight role as a style chameleon.<\/p>\n

While we usually see the 55-year-old acteur <\/em>walking the world\u2019s most glamorous red carpets in Louis Vuitton<\/a>, Blanchett took a break from the French Maison on August 5, rocking up to an interview with Good Morning America<\/em> <\/a>in a blue-on-blue set from Brandon Maxwell\u2019s Resort 2025 collection. Her jacket\u2014which featured four pockets and gold buttons\u2014was cinched in at the waist with a large, high prowess Brandon Maxwell heart-shaped belt. She paired the two with what looked like a pair of mid-wash denim pants. It\u2019s a look a lot of Americans would call the \u201cCanadian Tuxedo\u201d but in actual fact, the jacket and pants were made from velvet and were designed to only look like denim. Some burgundy crocodile pumps completed the look. We\u2019re obsessed!<\/p>\n

\u201cI also played an elf! And Bob Dylan!\u201d joked Blanchett on Good Morning America<\/em>. \u201cSo, when [software company] Gearbox said they were doing this, I thought, \u2018well I haven\u2019t done that before.\u2019 I didn\u2019t know the game at all, so it was a deep dove for me. Then I heard Jamie Lee Cutis was going to do it, I would have done anything!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a story from the first and second parts of this game called Borderlines which billions of people play,\u201d she continued. \u201cI play a bounty hunter\u2026and she\u2019s got huge mummy issues and she goes back to her birth planet to help find the key to everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

It definitely sounds interesting! Blanchett was later spotted at JFK airport is the most stylish of plane outfits.<\/p>\n

Borderlands<\/em> is set to release into Australian cinemas on August 8.<\/span><\/p>\n
