The singer and actress teased the upcoming festivities with a post earlier in the week where she expressed her gratitude for being surrounded by \u201chuman beings that make me better, challenge me, remind me day after day that every moment is a gift\u201d. \u201cThat\u2019s my pure joy,\u201d she wrote before adding, \u201cI thank God for the era I\u2019m in. It\u2019s been the best yet\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Her sweet and sentimental messages continued throughout her birthday week, reserving the most significant for her boyfriend, musician Benny Blanco<\/a>. While sharing images from the balmy party, Gomez posted a photo of the pair hugging with the caption: \u201cLove of my life\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

These friends-to-lovers were acquaintances for over a decade before taking their platonic relationship to a romantic level in late 2023.\u00a0<\/a> Blanco reciprocated the public display of affection on another Instagram post shared by the <\/span>Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/span><\/i><\/a> star<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Later in the day, Gomez released images of her beachy makeup<\/a> and shared a glimpse of her birthday outfit: a canary yellow romper from Free People and a gold necklace with a \u2018B\u2019 initial. Quoting JAY-Z, Blanco wrote: \u201cI got the hottest chick in the game wearing my chain\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gomez had previously opened up about her experience being single in her late 20s and how her desire to start a family<\/a> led to conflicting feelings about her future. \u201cI was alone for five years, and I got really used to it,\u201d she explained. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it. Then I came up with my plan, which was I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

It turns out that she had met \u2018the one\u2019 but didn\u2019t realise it until much later.
