Things are heating up for the much-anticipated fourth installment of the ‘Bridget Jones’ series. The news of ‘Bridget Jones 4’ dropped like a bombshell last April, and fans can’t wait to dive back into Bridget’s quirky, romantic escapades. England\u2019s eternal bachelorette, played by Ren\u00e9e Zellweger, is making her grand return. Joining her, of course, is Hugh Grant<\/a> as the charming but troublemaking Daniel Clever. The movie, titled ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,’ is currently filming in the heart of London.<\/p>\n

First Look: Ren\u00e9e Zellweger and Hugh Grant Smooch Scene<\/h2>\n

Just a few days ago, Entertainment Tonight gave us a sneak peek that has everyone buzzing. They published a leaked photo showing Zellweger and Grant getting awfully close on a street in Hampstead, London. Grant, looking dapper in a navy suit, leans in to kiss Zellweger, who is dressed in typical Bridget style\u2014green skirt, black tights, gray jacket, and brown fur boots. It\u2019s the kind of moment that screams romance<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Cast: Familiar Faces and Fresh Talent<\/h2>\n

Based on Helen Fielding’s 2016 novel, ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,” this film sees Bridget navigating life as a single mother in her fifties. Sadly, her true love, Mark Darcy (originally played by Colin Firth), has passed away. Bridget, in her quest for a new spark, turns to dating apps and finds herself with a much younger beau. Colin Firth might be missing from the cast, but some fantastic talents will fill the void.<\/p>\n

Emma Thompson will return as Dr. Rawlings, alongside newcomers Leo Woodall and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Bridget’s parents, played by Gemma Jones and Jim Broadbent, are also back, as well as her hilarious friends Jude (Shirley Henderson), Tom (James Callis), and Shazz (Sally Phillips).<\/p>\n

Can Bridget Jones 4 Measure Up?<\/h2>\n

‘Bridget Jones\u2019s Diary’ hit theaters back in 2001, becoming an instant classic and nabbing Ren\u00e9e Zellweger her first Oscar nomination. However, not everyone\u2019s still singing its praises. Even the original filmmaker, Richard Curtis, and author Helen Fielding have expressed some reservations about the film\u2019s dated portrayal of everyday sexism. In the #MeToo era<\/a>, everyone\u2019s curious to see how Bridget’s story evolves.<\/p>\n

Despite any concerns, Hugh Grant has high hopes for this new film, calling the script \u201cthe best of the four.\u201d<\/em> He even says it\u2019s \u201cone of the best scripts I’ve read in a long time.\u201d<\/em> Intrigued? We are too. Mark your calendars, as ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy will hit American screens on Valentine\u2019s Day, 2025.<\/p>\n
