In a rare departure from wearing Louis Vuitton<\/a>, Emma Stone has utilised her latest public outing to co-sign the resurgence of two of the biggest fashion trends from the 2010s<\/a>: colour blocking and capri pants. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Academy Award winner<\/a> arrived at the UK premiere for her latest film, Yorgos Lanthimos\u2019 triptych black comedy <\/span>Kinds Of Kindness<\/a>, <\/span><\/i>in a silhouette that\u2019s piqued the curiosity of those who keep up with the celebrity style set. <\/span><\/p>\n

This is in part due to the rarity of seeing Stone outside of one of Nicolas Ghesqui\u00e8re\u2019s<\/a> feminine and fantastical designs<\/a>. Though, more accurately, because the actress\u2019 ensemble is exhumed from the graveyard of forgotten noughties style<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In London on June 24, Stone wore a blue, straight-cut, cotton button-down shirt under a fire-engine-red cashmere sweater and capri-cut satin blend trousers, all from decisively minimalist label The Row. <\/span><\/p>\n

We wouldn\u2019t take Mary-Kate<\/a> and Ashley Olsen<\/a> as proprietors of the \u2018twee\u2019 aesthetic renaissance. But given their style from this decade is often mimicked (especially by themselves when it comes to designing new season collections for their luxury label), the combination of a Hollywood star referencing the period they broke out in during the peak of their success feels especially justified. <\/span><\/p>\n

Of course, Stone isn\u2019t alone in embracing these trends, nearly a decade since they were first popularised. Former pop star Victoria Beckham<\/a> has made polychromatic colour blocking an indispensable part of her uniform<\/a>. Though we\u2019re unsure if Posh Spice<\/a> would embrace the polarising<\/a> pedal pusher\u2014this style is more akin to her daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz Beckham\u2019s<\/a> wardrobe\u2014the three-quarter length revival is already amongst us. Case in point: Gigi Hadid<\/a> wearing jean capris, japris if you will, while out in New York. <\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, it\u2019s clear we\u2019re on the precipice of 2010s style coming back in full force. (A particularly nostalgic sentiment as we\u2019ve just farewelled one of the era\u2019s patriarchs, Dries Van Noten<\/a>, as he stepped back from his design role at the helm of his eponymous label recently!)
