Fans of C\u00e9line Dion have been longing for her return<\/a> ever since she canceled all her concerts. Thankfully, she\u2019s back in the spotlight with a new documentary. Directed by Irene Taylor, ‘I Am: C\u00e9line Dion’ offers an intimate look at her life, especially focusing on her battle with stiff person syndrome<\/a>. This rare, debilitating illness keeps her from doing what she loves\u2014dancing and singing.<\/p>\n

The documentary aired on Prime Video this June 25th, 2024. Along with intimate moments and some surprising revelations<\/a>\u2014like her approach to self-medication\u2014one scene stands out. In a heart-wrenching moment, we see C\u00e9line gripped by spasms, crying out in pain.<\/p>\n

An Unexpected Absence in ‘I Am: C\u00e9line Dion’ Documentary<\/h2>\n

As compelling as the documentary is, fans couldn’t help but notice someone important was missing. C\u00e9line\u2019s eldest son, Ren\u00e9-Charles Ang\u00e9lil, didn\u2019t appear in the film. His younger twin brothers, Nelson and Eddy, aged 13, are prominently featured. So what’s the deal? Are there family rifts?<\/p>\n

Contrary to wild speculation, the reason is simpler. According to Cosmopolitan<\/em>, Ren\u00e9-Charles didn’t appear because he no longer lives with his mom. At 23, he’s out of the family home, while his younger siblings still reside there. So, his absence during the year-long filming makes sense.<\/p>\n

Ren\u00e9-Charles: Absent But Not Estranged<\/h2>\n

Despite the buzz, there’s no bad blood between Ren\u00e9-Charles and C\u00e9line. The 23-year-old proudly supported his mom at the documentary premiere. They looked genuinely happy posing together on the red carpet, squashing any rumors of a tumultuous relationship.<\/p>\n

While he doesn’t appear in new footage, the documentary does include archival photos of him, particularly when discussing his birth. Ren\u00e9-Charles might just prefer staying out of the limelight. After all, he ventured into the music world himself, releasing a mini rap album in 2021 under the alias Big Tip.<\/p>\n
