If you’ve stocked your closet with flannels in anticipation of getting cozy this winter, Shay Mitchell<\/a> has the perfect DIY project for you to elevate your cool-weather wardrobe staple. Simply grab a scissors and transform one of your favorite flannels into a crop top. Keep in mind the following: the more jagged the cut, the cooler the crop.<\/p>\n

Mitchell hasn’t revealed whether or not she actually trimmed her own shirt or purchased it that way, but whatever the case, it looks really chic paired with high-waisted dark denim, white tennis shoes, sunglasses, and a black crossbody bag. She posted a photo series<\/a> to Instagram, documenting the look on Monday, December 21. The photoshoot was courtesy of His Laboratory founder, <\/span>Kevin Ipalari<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the accompanying caption, Mitchell cheekily wrote, “When he asks why all his shirts are cropped….” She served up fierce expressions to make it clear that no one can stop her from embracing the trend.<\/p>\n

Mitchell is the latest celebrity to make crop tops in winter a thing. She lives in Los Angeles for the record, but it’s a trend that many other stars are embracing, including Bella Hadid<\/a>, Katie Holmes, and Kendall Jenner<\/a>. We’ve seen it in the form of turtleneck knits, cardigans, and in Mitchell’s case, flannels. Luxury labels like Gucci, Burberry, and Balmain have released their own takes on the celeb-loved style.<\/p>\n
