It’s been four years since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from the British royal family<\/a>. Since their decision on January 8, 2020, the couple has been living in Montecito, California. Despite the distance, tensions with family members like Kate Middleton and Prince William persist.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, May 26, royal author Tom Quinn noted a sudden closeness between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry’s cousins. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are now reportedly closer to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.<\/p>\n

“For William and Kate, an alliance between Harry and Meghan and Beatrice and Eugenie is a huge concern,”<\/em> he stated in the Mirror<\/em>. “They feel that Beatrice and Eugenie see themselves as somewhat of outcasts. They believe the princesses have much more in common with Harry and Meghan than with any other part of the family. The situation is made worse by the fact that a key asset of the royal family, Kate, is sidelined. She is undergoing treatment for cancer,<\/a>“<\/em> he continued.<\/p>\n

Harry and Meghan’s Regular Contact with Beatrice and Eugenie<\/h2>\n

Moreover, Kate Middleton’s cancer forces the princess to stay away from crowds and minimize public appearances. “The concern for the royal family members is that after their tour in Nigeria, Harry and Meghan will take the lead, reveling in positive publicity<\/a>. Meanwhile, Kate will have to remain in the background,”<\/em> the royal expert explains.<\/p>\n

But the connection between Prince Harry and his cousins is not new. The royal couple has never ceased to update Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. “Although Harry and Meghan have little sympathy for Prince Andrew, they have remained in regular contact with Beatrice and Eugenie. The princesses have always been free of any association with Meghan\u2019s period of anger and bitterness in the UK.”<\/em> he concludes.<\/p>\n
