Selena Gomez may have substituted custom Saint Laurent on the Boulevard de la Croisette<\/a> for Rebecca Vallance on the set of <\/span>Only Murders in the Building <\/span><\/i><\/a>in Manhattan, but the star hasn\u2019t let her glitzy turn on the C\u00f4te d’Azur stop her from opening up about what truly matters to her: mental health, motherhood<\/a> and Rare Beauty<\/a>. (In no particular order). <\/span><\/p>\n

Indeed, the 31-year-old, who recently won \u2018Best Actress\u2019 at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival<\/a> for her performance in <\/a><\/span>Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/span><\/i><\/a>, opened up about her future hopes to start a family one day<\/a>, explaining how her boyfriend, Benny Blanco<\/a>, slightly derailed the plans she set for herself. When asked in a new profile<\/a> if having a partner helps her navigate difficult periods in her life, the star explained that her relationship is a \u201clittle irrelevant\u201d because he isn\u2019t her only source of happiness.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was alone for five years, and I got really used to it,\u201d she explained. \u201cA lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it.\u201d The multi-hyphenate added that her spell of being single<\/a> led her to formulate a strategy: \u201cAdopt at 35 if I had not met anyone\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

Gomez continued to describe how she first met the music producer, explaining how their relationship was strictly platonic before she caught feelings for him. \u201cIt just happens when you least expect it,\u201d she said. Blanco also recently opened up about his feelings towards Gomez, sharing that he wants to marry and have kids with her<\/a>, but is taking their relationship \u201ca day at a time\u201d. <\/span>“I just know that when I look at her, I just say, \u2018I don\u2019t know a world where it could be better than this.\u2019 That\u2019s what I always say to her,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Gomez echoed his sentiment: \u201cI don\u2019t know what the future holds, but I do know that he\u2019s not going anywhere anytime soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
