The news cycle surrounding Hollywood’s greatest reunion<\/a> story, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, has been a little confusing lately. From shock reports that the two had resorted to living separately amid marriage troubles to loved-up paparazzi pictures and blurry shots of Affleck with and without his wedding band, the past week has been a rollercoaster for fans of the couple.<\/p>\n

So, let’s break it down based on the facts.<\/p>\n

May 15<\/h2>\n

InTouch<\/em> <\/a>reports that the newlyweds were heading for divorce, with Affleck already moved out of their home amid high tensions with his wife. According to a source, the duo still faces the same issues that caused them to break up almost two decades ago.<\/p>\n

“[They] said they\u2019d matured and learned from their mistakes, but some of the bigger issues that tore them apart the first time remained the same,\u201d the source told the outlet. “They\u2019ll never stop loving each other, but she can\u2019t control him, and he can\u2019t change her. There\u2019s no way it could have lasted.\u201d<\/p>\n

May 16, 2024<\/h2>\n

The next day, TMZ<\/em><\/a> published photos of the Argo<\/em> star driving back and forth from a house in Brentwood, Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

While the couple only just bought their Beverly Hills property last year, the rumors cast a more sombre light on photos of Lopez house hunting around L.A. a few weeks ago. ‘Bennifer’ haven’t been photographed together since March this year.<\/p>\n

May 17, 2024<\/h2>\n

With rumors ramping up, J-Lo was snapped on March 17, proudly donning her wedding ring and smiling ear-to-ear.<\/p>\n

Two days later, the actor stepped out with his ring back on.<\/p>\n

That same day, Lopez ‘liked’ a cryptic post<\/a> on Instagram that explained why you cannot build a healthy relationship with anyone who; “doesn’t know who they are or what they want,” “lacks integrity and emotional safety,” “doesn\u2019t respect your time, doesn’t think it’s important to call\/text back in a respectable time frame,” and “lacks effective communication skills.”<\/p>\n

Paparazzi photos<\/a> then emerged of the two smiling from their car, effectively shutting down rumors of a split… kind of.<\/p>\n

It’s been reported that Affleck is busy filming for the sequel to The Accountant<\/em>, but sources have seemingly confirmed that there is a rift.<\/p>\n

One insider alluded to InTouch<\/em> <\/a>that the two want different things.<\/p>\n

A major point of contention between the pair has always been their respective relationships with the spotlight. Lopez has never shied away from attention, while Affleck prefers to keep a low profile. In Lopez’s documentary<\/a> The Greatest Love Story Never Told<\/em>, her husband admitted to struggling with this.<\/p>\n
