At just 22, Freya Allan has quickly established herself as a rising star in the entertainment world. Best known for her role in Netflix’s The Witcher<\/a>, Freya Allan is now set to captivate audiences in the much-anticipated “The Planet of the Apes: The New Kingdom.” Here are six intriguing facts about this talented British actress.<\/p>\n

1. An Oxford Native with a Unique School Background<\/h2>\n

Freya Allan was born on September 6, 2001, in Oxford, England. Her parents separated when she was still a baby. Freya attended Headington School, an all-girls school that’s also the alma mater of Emma Watson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2. Freya Allan’s Acting Began with an Unlikely Role<\/h2>\n

Freya\u2019s first brush with acting came at the tender age of 4 during a school Christmas nativity play. Assigned the role of a wolf, little Freya was not thrilled about playing the “bad guy.” On Chris Evans\u2019 radio show, she recalled, “The teacher said I\u2019d be a wolf that eats sheep. I said, ‘I don’t want to be a bad guy,’ so they made me a vegetarian wolf. My line was, ‘I’m Sally, the vegetarian wolf,’ and everyone laughed. That’s when I thought, ‘This is great!'” <\/em><\/p>\n

3. A Childhood Spent in Imagination<\/h2>\n

Acting has always come naturally to Freya Allan, albeit in unconventional ways. She told Num\u00e9ro, “I spent a lot of my childhood pretending to be a dog or a horse, and my parents would often catch me talking to myself. It\u2019s no different from me learning lines now.”<\/em><\/p>\n

4. Ballet Beginnings and Early Breaks<\/h2>\n

Freya’s first notable performance came at age 11 in the ballet “Rapunzel” with the Ballet Lorent company. “I closed my eyes at the end of the performance, and I think that’s when I caught the acting bug,”<\/em> she explained. By 14, she had reached out to an agent on her own, landing her early roles in short films and TV series<\/a> like “Into the Badlands” and “War of the Worlds.” Her big break came at 16 when she was cast as Ciri in Netflix\u2019s “The Witcher.”<\/p>\n

5. A Fortunate Casting Twist for Freya Allan<\/h2>\n

Interestingly, Freya Allan wasn’t initially cast as Ciri in “The Witcher.” She was chosen for a smaller role as Marilka in the first episode. Showrunner Lauren Hissrich told Variety, “We couldn\u2019t find our Ciri. Sophie Holland, our casting director, called me and said, ‘I’d like you to consider Freya Allan for this role.’ I flew to London, and we hired Freya that same day.”<\/em><\/p>\n
