When George and Amal Clooney<\/strong><\/a> placed their bags down in the south of France, little did they anticipate that their idyllic retreat in Brignoles at the lavish Canadel estate would turn into a semi-secluded sanctuary. After acquiring their home in 2021, which sprawls over 170 hectares and features amenities like a swimming pool, a tennis court, and a vineyard for 6.1 million euros, the Clooneys embraced the Mediterranean sunshine.<\/p>\n

“We love being here,”<\/em> George reportedly shared with Paris Match<\/em>, echoing the contentment they initially felt.<\/p>\n

George and Amal Clooney: \u201cThey\u2019re not really fans\u2026\u201d<\/h2>\n

However, if we zoom into their day-to-day life<\/a>, the tranquility the couple seeks seems just slightly out of reach. According to Here<\/em> magazine, George and Amal spend much of their time within the privacy of their vast estate, rarely stepping out. This reclusive behavior might be due to their lackluster impression of the local city\u2019s charm, as per a local who spoke to Here<\/em>, “They are not really fans of the city within the walls.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Then there’s the challenge of dealing with their fame in public spaces. Once, a simple attempt to shop at a local supermarket ended abruptly, with the couple having to retreat after causing a stir among the public. Living in the south isn’t as peaceful as one would assume for the Clooneys, despite the area’s undeniable beauty.<\/p>\n

George comes to the aid of Brignoles<\/h2>\n

Yet, despite the occasional turbulence, their heart for the community shines through. George is actively participating in local development, as highlighted during a conversation with Didier Br\u00e9mond, the mayor of Brignoles. Excited about a sustainable agriculture project intended to benefit local schools, George demonstrated his commitment to the long-haul, fostering not just plant growth<\/a> but also educational opportunities for children.<\/p>\n

Down in the south, they live a mix of luxury seclusion and caring for the community. Even though they don’t stroll around the cobblestone streets a lot, they make a big difference locally. Their life in the south is all about balancing privacy and being part of the community, showing what it’s like to live under the sunny Mediterranean sky.<\/p>\n

It seems George and Amal plan to stick around, settling into their big French estate more and more each day.<\/p>\n
