We love Kendall Jenner<\/a>\u2019s figurative take on The Garden Of Time at the 2024 Met Gala<\/a>. The model wore one of Alexander McQueen\u2019s Fall 1999 haute couture pieces for Givenchy. Covered in 100,000 black and brass beads and sequins, this regal gown has actually never been worn, having never shown on a runway.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so, so incredibly honoured to wear it. I\u2019m the first human to wear it\u2014it showed on a mannequin,\u201d Jenner said<\/a> on the carpet. \u201cIt was a miracle that it fit, it was a miracle that [my team and I] found it and it feels meant to be. I\u2019m so happy.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Met Gala is themed Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion <\/em>with a “Garden Of Time” dress code.\u00a0According to Max Hollein, The Met\u2019s Marina Kellen French Director and CEO, it will \u201cpush the boundaries of our imagination and invite us to experience the multi-sensory facets of a garment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSleeping Beauties<\/em> will heighten our engagement with these masterpieces of fashion by evoking how they feel, move, sound, smell, and interact when being worn, ultimately offering a deeper appreciation of the integrity, beauty, and artistic brilliance of the works on display,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

Unlike her sister Kim Kardashian, Jenner\u2019s search for a strong archival piece to wear to the Met Gala didn\u2019t begin by opening Marilyn Monroe\u2019s wardrobe.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I first heard [the theme], I thought of something archival and started doing a little bit of research and I came across this dress. The chances that [the house of Givenchy] had it available were really slim, the chances that it fit me were also really slim\u2014I couldn\u2019t do any tailoring\u2014and it fit perfectly! So, it feels meant to be.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jenner\u2019s hair was styled with a centre part, two twists, and kept long and to her waist. Very House Of Dragon<\/em>, indeed.
