Elle Fanning<\/a> and Dakota<\/a> Fanning may share many physical attributes as sisters, but their style DNA has always differed. While the duo are always supporting each other’s work, they do so with their own sartorial flair.<\/p>\n

Both were at New York City\u2019s Crosby Street Hotel on Tuesday night to celebrate Dakota’s latest Netflix thriller, Ripley.<\/a><\/em> Like the 1999 cult film, The Talented Mr. Ripley<\/em>, the streamer’s new series is based on Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 crime novel of the same name. In the new series version, Dakota plays Marge Sherwood, the role originally played by Gwyneth Paltrow<\/a> more than two decades ago.<\/p>\n

For the occasion, Dakota looked sleek in a black slip dress cinched by a blazer tied around the waist. Bringing some bling to the look, she accessorised with a stack of Cartier white gold and diamond\u00a0 Juste un Clou bracelets and a coordinating ring. Meanwhile, Elle opted for a bold red satin trench coat over black stockings and simple pumps. Her makeup complimented the scarlet hues with coral blush and red lipstick, while her lob hair was kept straight.<\/p>\n

The sisters, both of whom have always demonstrated a keen eye with their red carpet appearances, seem to have swapped looks for the evening, as it’s mostly Dakota we see rocking the vivid colours and Elle in the sleek neutrals. But what are sisters for if not to borrow from one another?<\/p>\n

The new Ripley<\/em> limited series sees Andrew Scott<\/a> take on the leading role of conman Tom Ripley, alongside Johnny Flynn as Dickie Greenleaf.<\/p>\n
