But with Anne Hathaway about to take her turn as a pop star’s girlfriend<\/a> in the on-screen rendering of a Harry Styles<\/a> fanfiction, the actress could soon find herself a prototype for a new niche trend: the boy band beau aesthetic. <\/span><\/p>\n

Indeed, should TikTok need a new poster child to emulate, why not look to the silhouettes preferred by a fictional 40-something sexy divorc\u00e9e who finds herself courting one of the biggest musical acts in the world? This exact scenario will soon play out in the upcoming romance <\/span>The Idea Of You<\/span><\/i><\/a>, with the film following Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine\u2019s nascent relationship from the early stages of meeting at a musical festival to the globe-trotting, private jet-flying sensation their tryst turns into. <\/span><\/p>\n

But before the campy dalliance makes its debut on streaming services, Hathaway has given us a glimpse of how to achieve her character\u2019s \u201caesthetic\u201d by sartorially referencing the events of the film. <\/span><\/p>\n

Indeed, while attending the film\u2019s global premiere at SXSW in Texas, Hathaway took cues from her fictional counterpart\u2019s \u201cSol\u00e8ne\u201d meet-cute with Galitzine\u2019s \u201cHayes Campbell\u201d at Coachella<\/a>. For the occasion, Hathaway sported a desert-ready mini dress<\/a> from French label Patou. The chintzy piece consisted entirely of individually applied sequins and an oscillating pattern embroidered into the bodice of the dress with rhinestones. <\/span><\/p>\n

This subtle rendition of the boho chic trend is more akin to Hathaway\u2019s penchant for body-conscious dressing<\/a> than the artistic and fluid silhouettes her dramatis personae sports in the film. Nonetheless, it\u2019s further proof that an actor should stay in character during the press tour\u2014at least in the sartorial department. <\/span><\/p>\n

During the actual premiere, Hathaway appeared choked up as she expressed her gratitude for the audience through teary eyes. \u201cYou have no idea the gift that you\u2019ve just given us with your responsiveness, by being so connected to every little nuance in this,\u201d she said while crying before adding: \u201cI will never forget this screening.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Based on the content of the actual film, it appears audiences won\u2019t either. In an early review released by <\/span>Variety<\/span><\/i><\/a>, the publication explains, \u201cThere\u2019s steam enough to come, as [Hathaway and Galitzine] ravage hotel rooms in Barcelona, Rome and Paris\u201d.
