For the third time this award season, Past Lives<\/em> actor Greta Lee has opted to wear a Loewe creation making her easily one of the most interesting to look at on the consecutive red carpets. There was Lee\u2019s lemon-hued biomaterial backless gown<\/a> at the Golden Globes, her matching button-up loose knit top and high-waisted wide-leg trousers<\/a> at The Critics Choice Awards, and her monochrome backless gown (seen on the luxury house\u2019s Fall\/Winter 2024 runway<\/a> just 10 days ago) at today\u2019s Oscars.<\/p>\n

Lee teamed the gown with Tiffany & Co. earrings in platinum with diamonds, a Tiffany Archives bracelet with diamonds and emeralds, and a ring in platinum with green tourmaline.<\/p>\n

Indeed, no one does the ‘runway to realway’ sell quite like Lee. Take a look.<\/p>\n

Lee wasn\u2019t actually the first choice to play Nora in Korean-Canadian-American playwright Celine Song\u2019s stirring and heartbreaking debut film Past Lives<\/em>, a wistful what-if tale about two ex-lovers who could <\/em>have been together had it not been for geography.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was slowly, completely gobsmacked by what I was reading,\u201d Lee, 40, recently told W Magazine<\/em><\/a> recounting the first time she read the Past Lives<\/em> script. \u201cI cried a lot. Trying to read while crying is physiologically very challenging!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then I auditioned and I didn\u2019t get the job,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt happens and sometimes it hurts more for certain things. A full year later, I got a crazy phone call: \u2018Are you available to meet with Celine Song?\u2019 I had blocked it out of my mind, it was a certain type of heartbreak, you don\u2019t want to think about the guy who dumped you!\u201d<\/p>\n

Upon meeting Song about her \u201csoulmate script\u201d, however, Lee says the pair \u201cfell in love with each other that day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Song\u2019s great ability to move her audience through the modesty of humanity and the universal feeling of yearning for something that could have been, has seen the film garner an Oscar nomination for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay\u2014a feat for a first time filmmaker.<\/p>\n
