Freckles, those tiny spots of sunshine-kissed skin, have captivated beauty enthusiasts for years. While some are lucky enough to be blessed with these natural beauty marks, others resort to makeup to achieve a similar look. The latest faux freckle technique, however, takes inspiration from a surprising source: broccoli.<\/p>\n

The faux freckle trend itself isn’t new. Although the beauty trick has been around since the 1960s, it started regaining traction around 2018 with the help of beauty posts and filter on social media platforms like Snapchat, Instagram, and eventually TikTok, where users experimented with different application methods to achieve a natural-looking smattering of freckles across their noses and cheeks.<\/p>\n
