It’s no secret that Kim Kardashian may very well be our generation’s queen of the Birkin bag<\/a>. But has she traded in her signature styles for a new Herm\u00e8s handbag?<\/p>\n

Kardashian posted to Instagram this month holding a Box Mini Kelly Sellier 20<\/a> bag in black. The five-figure accessory was outfitted with a matching black Balenciaga Strapless Stretch-Jersey Bustier Top<\/a>, Carhartt Vintage Double-Knee Jeans in blue, and a Pharrell Williams Casio G-Shock x Bape DW-6900 white gold and diamond watch.<\/p>\n

In the 1930s, Robert Dumas, the visionary son-in-law of \u00c9mile Herm\u00e8s, revolutionized women’s fashion by creating the iconic Herm\u00e8s Kelly bag. Taking the helm of Herm\u00e8s from 1951 to 1978, Dumas introduced a daring and modern trapezoid-shaped design featuring two triangular gussets, a distinctive cutout flap, a stylish handle, and two side straps. The bag marked a bold departure for the house.<\/p>\n

However, it wasn’t until the late 1950s that the Kelly bag achieved legendary status when Hollywood star turned Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly, was famously photographed concealing her pregnancy with the bag placed over her stomach. Instantaneously catapulted into international stardom, the bag was subsequently renamed the “Kelly,” forever solidifying its place as an enduring symbol of elegance and sophistication.<\/p>\n
