Welcome to Inside Vanity, a regular letter from our editors created to spotlight the latest in beauty, from color to complexion and everything in between.<\/em><\/p>\n

Gucci<\/a> is an Italian fashion house lauded for its contribution to the world of perfumery, but the most recent extension – makeup – is one after my own heart. In the realm of beauty, I am essentially like a magpie. I’m drawn to gloss and glitter and shine, to ornate packaging and unexpected detail. That’s why Gucci struck a chord when it launched. Not only were the shades and textures spectacular, but the packaging was otherworldly (Creative Director Alessandro Michele’s world, specifically). There are lipsticks in ornate gold bullets, powders in retro compacts and my personal favorite, the L’Obscur Mascara, housed inside a pastel pink tube.<\/p>\n

It was also, refreshingly, a launch that championed a different kind of aesthetic. Instead of perfection and rules, it was more a celebration of quirks and individuality; about using makeup to express yourself, and in a way that felt uniquely your own. It’s been a huge success this year as well as a personal favorite of mine.<\/p>\n

So here, inside my vanity, I’m talking through some of my favorite Gucci Beauty buys, from lips to lashes (and good ones at that).<\/p>\n

GUCCI, ROUGE \u00c0 L\u00c8VRES VOILE LIPSTICK, $42, SHOP NOW<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

A lipstick so beautiful it’s almost too special to use… but Alessandro Michele wouldn’t hear of it. Rouge \u00e0 L\u00e8vres Voile is a sheer, hydrating option that gives a wash of color and hydration by the bucket load.<\/p>\n

GUCCI, ROUGE \u00c0 L\u00c8VRES SATIN LIPSTICK, $42, S<\/span>HOP NOW<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

For the classicists among us, Rouge \u00e0 L\u00e8vres Satin is creamy and opaque. If the bullet itself – a baroque-style gold – doesn’t draw you in, the long-wearing pigment will.<\/p>\n

GUCCI, ROUGE \u00c0 L\u00c8VRES MAT LIPSTICK, $42, SHOP<\/span> NOW<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

A true matte, this lipstick almost has a powdery quality on the lips (in the best possible way). The colors are also to die for: think dirty peach, brick red and shocking mauves.<\/p>\n

GUCCI, \u00c9CLAT DE BEAUT\u00c9 EFFET LUMI\u00c8RE MULTI-USE GEL GLOSS, $33, SHOP NOW<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Beautiful, shiny, luxurious. There’s a lot to love about Gucci’s take on face gloss. This rendition is completely transparent so works on all skin tones. Swipe it across cheek bones, eyelids, the cupid’s bow and through the brows for a complexion that’s glassy and cherub-like.<\/p>\n

GUCCI, POUDRE DE BEAUT\u00c9 MAT NATUREL BEAUTY POWDER, $54, SHOP NOW<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

The powder compact of dreams, this will soften shine and provide light coverage without caking or settling into fine lines. The Gucci-stamped puff is a special touch, too.<\/p>\n

GUCCI, POUDRE DE BEAUT\u00c9 \u00c9CLAT SOLEIL BRONZER, $62, SHOP NOW<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

We can’t sip a spritz under the Tuscan sun, but we can have this bronzer, which is almost as good. Dust over the places the sun would naturally hit: tops of the cheeks, the bridge of the nose, the hairline and collarbones.<\/p>\n

GUCCI, MASCARA L\u00b4OBSCUR 1 EVE BLACK MASCARA, $35, SHOP NOW<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

L’Obscur is a mascara that wants you to choose your own adventure. Swipe through once for clean definition, or use a heavy hand to create lashes that are thick, dramatic and wonderfully clumpy. \"\"<\/p>\n

GUCCI FLORA GARDEN GORGEOUS GARDENIA EDT, $107 for 100ml , SHOP NOW<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

White florals are often underwhelming but this is surprisingly fresh and begs the question, “what are you wearing?” While it does have that sweet, rich Gardenia quality, softer notes (red berries, pear, patchouli) balance things out.<\/p>\n

GUCCI BLOOM AMBROSIA DI FIORI EDP INTENSE FOR HER, $45 for 100ml, SHOP <\/span>NOW<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Those privy to the fine art of perfumery will know that Tuberose is a difficult beast, but Gucci’s version is pretty close to perfect. It’s a confident scent that sits somewhere between a floral and an oriental.<\/p>\n
