The unapologetically flawed Daisy Jones<\/a> may be the character that earned Riley Keough her first Golden Globe nomination<\/a>. Yet, it wasn\u2019t the fictional 70s rockstar whom she chose to embody on the red carpet. <\/span><\/p>\n

Rather, Keough looked closer to home for the occasion, seemingly channelling the iconic wedding dress her grandmother Priscilla Presley<\/a> wore to marry the \u201cKing of Rock\u201d, Elvis Presley in 1967.<\/span><\/p>\n

Indeed, Keough hung up her cowboy boots, Daisy Dukes and crochet tanks for the penultimate look in Chanel\u2019s Spring 2023 Haute Couture collection. <\/span><\/p>\n

As is the tradition set by the French Maison’s late creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, the final looks in their panoplies are dedicated to a procession of bridal fanfare. <\/span><\/p>\n

So whether intentional or not, Keough\u2019s selection of this matrimonial silhouette has evoked the essence of Priscilla through her and the dress\u2019 striking similarity. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Virginie Viard-designed gown paid homage to the menagerie of sculptural animals kept by Gabrielle \u2018Coco\u2019 Chanel at her legendary Rue Cambon residence. <\/span><\/p>\n

But at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Keough brings new meaning to the ethereal ensemble. The dress features a floor-length strapless column dress crafted from delicate floral white lace overlain with a wispy sheer mesh mini adorned with golden sequin appliqu\u00e9 in a crab motif. <\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a contemporary interpretation of Chanel\u2019s quintessential \u2018isms\u2019 and a fitting tribute for Keough\u2019s first award season foray as a newly appointed ambassador of the French maison.<\/a> <\/span><\/p>\n

Keough wasn\u2019t involved with the product of Sofia Coppola\u2019s <\/a><\/span>Priscilla<\/span><\/i><\/a>, however, it was Chanel who recreated the former clothing boutique owner\u2019s wedding gown for the film. Both dresses centrepiece beguiling lace and delicate layering.<\/span><\/p>\n

Keough\u2019s return to the Golden Globes marks a year since she and her late mother Lisa-Marie Presley attended the 80th iteration of the soiree. Tragically, Presley passed away two days after the event, making their rare appearance as a duo Lisa-Marie\u2019s last public outing. <\/span><\/p>\n

Here, a year on, Keough is ensuring the Presley legacy (and doing so in Chanel couture!)<\/span><\/p>\n
