Despite \u2018Year in Review\u2019 compilations charting the sartorial rise of fashion\u2019s biggest trends, Beyonc\u00e9 has used her platform to prove the reign of micro shorts<\/a> has only just begun.<\/p>\n

Over the weekend in France, the Grammy Award winner put a Renaissance touch<\/a> on the trend du jour<\/em> in a pair of iridescent hot pants<\/a> from Prada. Keeping within her signature metallic colour palette, Beyonc\u00e9 opted for a Champagne hue\u2014a tactical move considering she wore the ensemble to attend JAY-Z\u2019s 54th birthday party in Bordeaux.<\/p>\n

Given the musician\u2019s recent preoccupation with her multi-million dollar grossing tour, Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s delay in giving this silhouette her stamp of approval is entirely understandable. But as we, and the nearly 3 million people who engaged in her post, agree, the look was worth waiting for.<\/p>\n

As the adage goes; A queen is never late, everyone else is simply early.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s fitting that Beyonc\u00e9 chose a Miuccia Prada design, given that Mrs Prada is solely responsible for reviving this trend through Miu Miu\u2019s Fall\/Winter 2023<\/a> collection. However, this isn\u2019t the 42-year-old’s first foray into the realm of body-sculpting shorts.<\/p>\n

As you\u2019ll recall, Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s penchant for this skin-tight staple began back in 2005 when she wore a pair of low-rise indigo denim shorts for her \u201cCrazy In Love\u201d music video. Most recently, Beyonc\u00e9 chose negligible frayed denim for her \u201cHomecoming\u201d performance at the 2018 Coachella Music Festival.<\/a><\/p>\n

On this occasion, Beyonc\u00e9 eschewed the entertainer’s theatrics and looked to opulent glamour to ring in her husband\u2019s next lap around the sun. To do so, the mother-of-three paired her bottoms with a sheer turtleneck, calf-grazing grey fur coat and white stiletto pumps.<\/p>\n

Not the typical grape stomping attire you\u2019d typically see at a vineyard, but an era-defining look nonetheless.<\/p>\n
