Millennial women received an early Christmas present when four of the early 2000s teen screen supremes, the cast of The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants<\/em>, reunited over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Over 18 years had passed since Blake Lively<\/a>, America Ferrera, Alexis Bedel and Amber Tamblyn first shared the screen, but when they gathered to honour Ferrera\u2019s Critics Choice Awards nomination at a special screening of Barbie<\/em><\/a> in New York, it was like no time had passed at all.<\/p>\n

Tragically, despite the on-screen and real-life sisterhood bonding over a pair of shared denim pants, the ensemble resolved to leave their jeans at home. Big mistake, huge.<\/p>\n

Instead of gaudy Y2K denim<\/a>\u2014as seen below in studded flares<\/a>, cuffed trousers and low-rise stonewash at the 2005 Kid\u2019s Choice Awards\u2014the group opted for various takes of #Barbiecore<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Similar to the plot of the noughties coming-of-age drama\u2014which, for the uninitiated, follows four best friends who share a mysterious pair of jeans that inexplicably suits them all perfectly over summer\u2014it’s clear they agreed that Barbie<\/em> pink<\/a> is a universally flattering shade.<\/p>\n

However, this didn\u2019t disavow them from applying their own interpretations of the plastic fantastic aesthetic. Given that Ferrera has lived the most in the Barbie<\/em>-verse, she eschewed the film\u2019s signature hue for an ivory draped mini dress by Elie Saab.<\/p>\n

Lively donned a \u2018stereotypical Barbie<\/a>\u2019 silhouette in a magenta Oscar De La Renta mini dress featuring a skin-tight bodice and feathered skirt. She also wore bicep-grazing opera gloves to complete her traditional Barbie look.<\/p>\n

Bledel took cues from her breakout role, Rory Gilmore, in a Stars Hollow-approved blazer and Scarlett pencil skirt. Tamblyn, a New York Times<\/em> best-selling author, wore a monochromatic pantsuit.<\/p>\n

Celebrating the reunion, Ferrera posted a series of photos to social media, captioning the post: \u201cThe Sisterhood came through all in pink to celebrate my performance in Barbie<\/em> last night. I love these women with all my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for us? We\u2019d love nothing more than a Greta Gerwig<\/a>-helmed third installation in the Sisterhood<\/em> franchise. The ball is in your court, ladies.<\/p>\n
