Earlier this year, Kanye West made headlines when he started publicly saying controversial things about his family life with Kim Kardashian-West, their children and his plans to run for President of the United States. At the time, anyone who\u2019s ever experienced someone close to them having a bipolar episode could immediately tell that West\u2019s mental health was suffering, but others taunted the musician, questioned whether Kardashian-West was being a good wife and made jokes about his political career pivot.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the time, Kardashian-West spoke out in an eloquent and deeply moving statement, saying that she\u2019s doing everything in her power to support her husband through his mental health battles and implored the public to give the family compassion and empathy. “Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor,” she wrote. “People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgmental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Since then, behind-the-scenes, Kardashian-West has reportedly been working hard to keep her marriage to West solid, despite struggling to deal with his disorder and the subsequent issues his refusal to get help is causing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Four months after the couple reportedly took a private trip away together to work on their marriage – with sources telling <\/span>People <\/span><\/i><\/a>at the time that West had promised to get back on bipolar medication – <\/span>Entertainment Tonight<\/span><\/i><\/a> has an update on how things are going.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Kim is exhausted from continually trying,\u201d their source said, \u201cbut keeps their vows in mind when making any pertinent decisions.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cKanye is working on his psychological health and mental state. The family and Kanye are still in contact and everyone wants the best for Kanye, Kim, their kids and the rest of the family,” they continued.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The source added that Kardashian believes West “needs to work on himself before he can work on the well-being of anyone else\u201d and that she\u2019s still trying to work out whether the best way forward is to remain together or to separate. “Kim\u2019s family will support her in any decision she makes, but she feels that the most important thing to recognize before making any choice is realizing what\u2019s best for the kids, herself, Kanye and the rest of the family, essentially in that
