Ever since *that* Khaite cashmere bra moment in late 2019, Katie Holmes has stayed firmly on<\/a> the fashion industry’s radar. Despite being in the entertainment business for more than two decades, it’s the last 12 months that have seen her personal style blossom\u2014and her brand of elevated minimalism has spawned countless aspirational outfits during lockdown. Her latest look, worn during a grocery run with her new boyfriend, Emilio Vitoli Jr.,<\/a>in New York City, is quintessential Katie 2.0: a crisp white T-shirt, an on-brand puffer coat, and some truly incredible baggy, wide-leg blue denim jeans<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While we couldn’t get a direct confirmation on the designer, the jeans look remarkably similar to those created by the emerging label Made in Tomboy<\/a>, whose super wide-leg creations are garnering a growing fanbase (and a nod of approval from MATCHESFASHION.COM), thanks to their marriage of Parisian nonchalance and masculine tailoring. The style is part David Bowie circa Hunky Dory, part Noughties frat boy\u2014a combination that strangely works, especially on Holmes.<\/p>\n

Tempted to try the look for yourself? Thankfully, there are plenty of brands experimenting with this exact style. The British-based Marques’ Almeida has long tantalized the fashion crowd with their baggy, raw hemlined jeans, while Maison Margiela’s cheeky waistline cut-outs inject a dash of sex appeal to what is, admittedly, a particularly Man Repeller-esque\u00a0<\/em>trend. Be sure to keep your proportions in check by opting for something cropped up top (think a shrunken cardigan or ripped tank), then add a dash of height with a strappy sandal or sensible ankle boot, \u00e0 la Katie.<\/p>\n
