\u201cShe cleans up!\u201d was what George Clooney<\/a> told reporters about his wife, Amal Clooney. (Though we\u2019d argue there\u2019s never been an instance when the barrister was immaculately spotless in the sartorial department.)<\/p>\n

The 62-year-old was referring to her latest red carpet foray, which took place in Los Angeles overnight. The Clooneys attended the premiere of the actor\u2019s latest project The Boys in the Boat<\/em>. But, it was the 45-year-old\u2019s high-octane eveningwear ensemble that piqued our interest.<\/p>\n

Clooney is beyond the days of moonlighting as a burgeoning style savant, with the human rights lawyer bringing star power (and serious fashion sway) in vintage Versace<\/a>. Donatella Versace doesn\u2019t open her archives for just anyone, and in one fell swoop, Clooney proved she was a fashion force to be reckoned with.<\/p>\n

The look in question is a fluorescent yellow sundress featuring a subtle sweetheart neckline, cinched bodice and flowing skirt. Unlike the runway version, Clooney styled her signature brunette tresses<\/a> to cover the negligible straps. A wise styling move that instantly elevated the dress from body-conscious chemise to a spotlight-worthy gown.<\/p>\n

Though the Academy Award winner is no stranger to the bright lights of Tinseltown, he admitted to the press that seeing his wife shine on the red carpet left him a little \u201cembarrassed<\/a>\u201d. When asked about the moment he sees Amal in her glamorous silhouettes<\/a>, George revealed he gets \u201ca little embarrassed\u201d. \u201cI\u2019m always wearing something I\u2019ve worn a thousand times,\u201d he said. \u201cShe\u2019s [Amal] always like [gestures confusingly] and I\u2019m like [laughs]\u201d.<\/p>\n

Given Clooney\u2019s previous role as the caped crusader, perhaps this is his covert way of vindicating any celebrity couple<\/a> who have been criticised for their lack of coherent dressing<\/a>. But given this is George and Amal Clooney<\/a> we\u2019re discussing, anything they wear<\/a> can put the quotidian dresser to shame.<\/p>\n
