It appears Margot Robbie\u2019s turn as Barbie<\/a> is here to stay. Stepping out of New York\u2019s uptown hot spot The Peninsula Hotel on November 28, the 33-year-old star of Greta Gerwig\u2019s Barbie<\/a><\/em> and her producer husband Tom Ackerley had paparazzi swarming.<\/p>\n

Styled in a Versace blazer and skirt combo, pumps and the House\u2019s crystal La Medusa Mini Bag by stylist Andrew Mukamal, Robbie was all smiles, her pink ensemble a stark contrast to the flank of black-suited security guards behind her. Mukamal created a Barbie-sized splash on the world press tour<\/a>\u00a0earlier in the year by diving deep into the storied Barbie archives, and then enlisting Versace, Chanel, Moschino, and Herv\u00e9 L\u00e9ger to recreate the famous doll\u2019s minis and pantsuits. Our favourite? These Versace numbers<\/a> for a day and night press engagements in Seoul. Or maybe it was this custom Schiaparelli<\/a> which paid homage to \u201cSolo In The Spotlight\u201d Barbie, a Mattel creation from 1960.<\/p>\n

Robbie and Ackerley attended the Gotham Awards <\/a>in the city\u2019s Financial District on November 27, where the actress’ Mukamel-styled Prada outfit was a direct reference to the \u201cBlack Magic Ensemble\u201d Barbie<\/a> from 1964. Barbie <\/em>writer-director Greta Gerwig<\/a> and star producer Robbie took home the Global Icon & Creator Icon award.<\/p>\n

\u201cFour years ago, I asked Greta to come and write\u00a0Barbie\u00a0<\/em>with me,\u201d said Robbie on stage. According to her, Gerwig and her husband and co-writer Noah Baumbach \u201ctook an object \u2014 a doll with no character or story \u2014 and cooked up the most ridiculous, outrageous, bananas script in an attempt to conjure back what they loved about the movies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barbie<\/em> went on to be highest-grossing release of the year making USD $1.4 billion (AUD $2.1 billion) globally at the international box office.<\/p>\n

Yes, the Barbie<\/em> tour may have ended, but don\u2019t think Robbie has stopped serving looks. Perhaps it might be one of those characters who stays with her forever. Forever a Barbie girl.<\/p>\n
