Along with her re-records, Taylor Swift has been sharing unreleased tracks from various eras of her life. With Taylor’s version of her 1989<\/em> album coming out, the singer has also dropped a new ‘from the vault’ song: ‘You’re Losing Me’. In its pointed lyrics, fans now speculate that the song paints a picture of Swift’s breakup with Joe Alwyn<\/a>, suggesting troubles long before their breakup<\/a> in 2023.<\/p>\n

Throughout their six years together, the couple remained tight-lipped about each other and their relationship<\/a>. So, when news began circulating that they had parted ways earlier this year, it was no surprise that neither party provided a reason or confirmation.<\/p>\n

But a behind-the-scenes Instagram Story from producer Jack Antonoff<\/a> about the making of ‘You\u2019re Losing Me’ may have clarified fan theories about how the relationship ended.<\/p>\n

To celebrate the song’s release, Antonoff posted a candid photo of Swift eating raisins in a kitchen.<\/p>\n

“You’re Losing Me is out today. A very special track from the Midnights<\/em><\/a> sessions that’s finally streaming,” he wrote. “Written and recorded at home on 12\/5\/2021 right after Taylor ate these raisins.”<\/p>\n

Fans were quick to notice that the lyrics to the song were made all the more interesting when you consider the timeline<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As confirmed by Antonoff’s post, Swift wrote the lyrics about a relationship fading out and a partner not wanting to marry her more than a year before she and Alwyn split<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I gave you all my best me, my endless empathy, and all I did was bleed as I tried to be the bravest soldier, Fighting in only your army,” the song notes. “Don\u2019t you ignore me. I\u2019m the best thing at this party.”<\/p>\n

“I wouldn’t marry me either. A pathological people pleaser who only wanted you to see her,” she continues. “I\u2019m fading, thinking ‘Do something, babe, say something, Lose something, babe, risk something, Choose something, babe, I’ve got nothing to believe unless you\u2019re choosing me.”<\/p>\n

This is not the first time there has been commentary about Swift and Alwyn navigating difficulties in their relationship.<\/p>\n

After their breakup, a source told People<\/em><\/a> that the couple were prone to lows but that the breakup surprised even their friends.<\/p>\n

“They\u2019ve had rough patches before and always worked things out, so friends thought they would take some time apart but eventually come back together,” said the source. “Ultimately, [they]
