Selena Gomez has a few beauty signatures<\/a>. She loves a winged-eyeliner moment, a statement pout, and, most notably, her naturally dark brunette locks. But for the winter, a season where many look to darker tones, the Rare Beauty<\/a> founder has gone against tradition in favour of a more summery look. Taking a cue from Rihanna<\/a>, Kim Kardashian<\/a> and Keke Palmer<\/a>, who have all opted for similar warm shades, Gomez surprised fans by donning a fresh honey hue with summery highlights over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Crafted by hair stylist Philipp Verheyen<\/a>, the transformation also involved the addition of some bombshell layers for ample volume and a face-framing effect, with the length sitting slightly shorter at her chest.<\/p>\n

In the photos shared by Verheyen, the 31-year-old is seen wearing a black tweed blazer over a navy blue top, with cool-toned smokey eyes and a nude lip to compliment the outfit.<\/p>\n

The Only Murders in the Building<\/em> <\/a>star has been known to dabble with highlights and varying lengths, cuts<\/a> and bang shapes<\/a> with her hair in the past but hasn’t been chosen to rock this particular shade before.<\/p>\n

Both in 2017 and 2021, she did experiment with icy platinum blonde<\/a>, though.<\/p>\n

At the time, her hair stylist, Riawna Capri, shared the gruelling process of taking her from brunette to blonde in one very ambitious salon sitting.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen your client brings in a picture of #NirvanaBlonde, you pull up this informational Insta,” she wrote in an Instagram post<\/a>. “Let them know it took nine hours, 300 foils, eight bowls of bleach, all with two hair stylists working together simultaneously.”<\/p>\n

Quite the commitment, but Gomez has proven she’s always game to mix up her look. And her latest hue is giving us some serious inspo for the new season ahead.<\/p>\n
