In a new interview Academy Award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow has expressed her future plans to sell her wellness empire Goop<\/a> and retire from the spotlight.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re not ready to sell yet. I need a few more years,\u201d Paltrow, 51, told Bustle<\/em><\/a>, adding she has \u201cno idea\u201d who would buy the company but that she\u2019d be happy to leave it behind before her 55th<\/sup> birthday in three years time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will literally disappear from public life,\u201d Paltrow continued. \u201cNo one will ever see me again.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2018, the New York Time<\/em>s<\/a> estimated the company to be worth a cool USD $250 million (AUD $395 million ) but the actress says she\u2019s not motivated by the money\u2014perhaps in the same way she wasn\u2019t during her ski accident court trial<\/a> earlier this year where she took just USD $1 from the plaintiff.<\/p>\n

\u201cI could never get attracted to the really rich guy,\u201d she says. \u201cAnd I don’t make choices to build value in the wrong way. I’ve always done independent films. I don’t know. Money has never been my thing. It’s never been my driver.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Paltrow, \u00a0who is really motivated by the \u201ccreating, collaborating, being struck with new ideas, innovating, thinking ahead, strategy, vision\u201d side of Goop, she\u2019s in a new phase of her life now, one which is seeing a lot of changes in her family as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m in a phase where I feel like things are just extra, extra messy because I have so much to do,\u201d she says. \u201cMy son and stepson are both seniors in high school, and sometimes I feel like the college process is a full-time job in and of itself. So I\u2019m trying to keep the domestic stuff on track, and we have a lot going on at the company… So I\u2019m just f*cking up. I\u2019ve burned three things in the oven this weekend, just stuff like that, where you\u2019re like, \u2018What the f*ck?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought in my 50s I could downshift for some reason. I don\u2019t really know why I thought that would happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Paltrow spoke about the term ‘nepo baby’, particularly in relation to her daughter, Apple, who was tapped by Chanel<\/a> earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow there\u2019s this whole nepo baby culture, and judgment that exists around kids of famous people. [Apple’s] really just a student, and she\u2019s been very… She just wants to be a kid and be at school and learn,\u201d says Paltrow. \u201cBut there\u2019s nothing wrong with doing or wanting to do what your parents do. Nobody rips on a kid who\u2019s like ‘I want to be a doctor like my dad and granddad.’\u201d<\/p>\n
