Olivia Wilde has earned the ere of netizens after seemingly including herself in Taylor Swift\u2019s narrative. <\/span><\/p>\n

Over the weekend, Wilde reshared a tweet calling out Swift\u2019s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce,<\/a> to her Instagram Story.<\/a> The post read: \u201cI wish Taylor Swift was in love with a climate scientist.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

While the subtext of the tweet is seemingly rooted in internalised misogyny\u2014because it\u2019s not the duty of a pop star to ensure the climate crisis<\/a> is front and centre in our lexicon and media cycle through her love life\u2014Wilde\u2019s apparent minimisation of Swift has been subsequently dragged on social media. <\/span><\/p>\n

Just as quick as Wilde was to jump in to vocalise her sentiments on the #Traylor phenomena, X users have swiftly thrown Harry Styles<\/a> into the proverbial sparring ring, too. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Who is Olivia Wilde to say sh*t,\u201d wrote one user. <\/span>\u201cI don’t remember Harry Styles restoring the ozone when they were dating,\u201d the user continued, referencing Styles and Wilde\u2019s two-year relationship<\/a> from 2020 to 2022. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Olivia Wilde posting this even tho she flew private with Harry is peak hypocrisy,\u201d another alleged.<\/span><\/p>\n

As expected, staunch Swifites have also picked apart Wilde\u2019s history with fighting the climate crisis, (which, from a quick Google search, is sporadic at best). <\/span><\/p>\n

Wilde\u2019s divisive rhetoric seemingly suggests that the Grammy Award winner should be more vocal about environmental causes rather than using her downtime to attend her boyfriend\u2019s football matches. <\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

While our collective attention should be on mitigating the cataclysmic impacts of global boiling, it\u2019s dangerous to cite one woman\u2019s influence as the changing tide needed to alleviate the current issues at hand. <\/span><\/p>\n

Only make matters worse is the fact both Wilde and Swift share an ex-boyfriend in Styles<\/a>, with the calling out of her most recent boyfriend\u2019s ex-girlfriend being interpreted by internet users as \u2018bitter\u2019. <\/span><\/p>\n

Neither Swift or Wilde have responded to the online vitriol, but if history has taught us anything, it\u2019s that Swift would very much like to be excluded from the discourse.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
